The fourth and fifth graders at Sope Creek Elementary School are having a lot of fun learning! Using the Lego NXT Mindstorms kits funded by an Impact Grant from the Cobb Schools Foundation, students are building and programming robots to do what they want (except their homework)! NXT Robotics is an 8-week course led by Sope Creek Gifted Education Specialist, Jenny Boucher.
“Our students get a chance to apply programming and design knowledge in hands-on, real-life situations,” says Boucher. “They instantly see the direct result of their work. They become engineers – designing, building, programming, and testing. We are grateful for the funds provided by the Cobb Schools Foundation!.”
